Our HDPE film is manufactured in the United States and is available in long rolls of varying widths in 30-100 mil thickness options. Multiple rolls of HDPE film can be connected using the double sided HDPE seam tape.

This film can be used a wide variety of different applications due to its high puncture and tear resistance. The HDPE film is also water proof which allows it to be used in applications where a water barrier is required. When buried, the in-ground material lifespan is over 100 years which typically is adequate for any project. The HDPE film is composed of recycled material.

Note: Our HDPE plastic is only available in roll widths up to 60 inches.

Please note that we are unable to provide custom roll lengths.

    HDPE Plastic - An Overview

Plastic is used in so many ways including bottled water, eyeglasses, containers to hold your food, and even the case on your phone. Plastics are an important part of our lives and you probably don't realize it but you use plastic every single day.

HDPE plastic is super popular and used constantly by manufacturers, construction companies, and retail stores. Learning about HDPE plastic will help you understand why this is such an important and popular material that interacts with your life in more ways than you will ever know.

    What Is Plastic?

The term plastic is very hard to define. It's used in an enormous range of applications that are made up of synthetic and semi-synthetic materials. Plastics are literally everywhere. Plastic is used for our goods such as for cleaning, packaging for foods, and other goods to help us live a safer and more pleasant life. Even the cars you drive have many parts that are made from plastic because the material is so much lighter than materials that were used in the past.

Plastic is found in children's toys, playground equipment, and even medical equipment. Natural goods such as gas, salt, crude oil, coal, and cellulose are used in their raw state in order to produce plastic. Plastic is a very adaptable material that is used in so many consumer and industrial applications. Plastic goods benefit from the low density of most polymers which makes this material lightweight and able to be used in endless numbers of products.

Polymers are natural or synthetic substances made up of molecules known as macromolecules. Polymers make up many materials in living organisms such as proteins. Most polymers offer thermal and electrical insulation and are developed to transmit electricity. Plastic is very resistant to a huge range of chemicals making them long-lasting. Some are translucent for use in optical instrument settings.

Plastic is very easy to mold into shapes needed for incorporating other materials into plastic goods. Plastics can be produced in a large combination of features over a long period of time for many different purposes.

Plastic is used in the following fields because of its excellent properties:
    Electronics
    Transportation
    Agriculture
    Sports
    Healthcare
    Energy
    Building and Construction
    Packaging

    What Is HDPE?

High-Density Poly Ethylene or HDPE is very popular and adaptable as it forms the strongest characteristics of plastic on the market.  Technically, HDPE is a durable plastic that is used to create jugs and bottles for short-term use and storage. To find out if a product is HDPE, look on the bottom of the bottle for the number 2 with the three arrows that symbolize recycling.

Anytime you have gone through your local grocery store, you are running into HDPE plastics. That's how important these products have become. HDPE plastics are used for milk and juice containers as well as other containers.  It's not just popular for many uses, they are also environmentally friendly which is another great value. Soap bottles, shampoo containers, bleach bottles, detergents, and the list goes on where HDPE is being used. Other fields include toys, drain pipes, outdoor signs, and outdoor furniture.

    Why HDPE Is So Popular

HDPE is super popular because of its incredible flexibility to be used in so many products. It's used in many services and retail operations such as hotels, resorts, and food providers. This is why so many are drawn to this product. On top of that, HDPE helps the environment to remain safe which is precisely why manufacturers are using HDPE for so many of their goods and can be reused later on. As HDPE is recyclable, it's often made into composite wood and plastic lumber. They are often made from post-consumer products that are recyclable when their purpose has ended. HDPE plastic requires very little energy to produce steel from iron ore along with other materials.

Whatever is made with HDPE, will be environmentally friendly because it's made with post-consumer products.  Take into consideration, over 115 million milk jugs are recycled each year, for making HDPE plastics.

    In Conclusion

HDPE is more than just environmentally friendly, it's very lightweight and super, super strong. Toys and outside furniture can withstand a lot of wear and tear and will not break or fall apart. HDPE plastic resists mold, mildew, rotting, and even insects which is why it's used in many industrial fields such as piping and construction.  HDPE can be easily molded and shaped for so many items and will fit just about anywhere with a little work. So there is no doubt why HDPE is the chosen favorite because it's adaptable and capable in so many ways.  There are just endless uses that manufacturers are using HDPE plastics. By now, you probably understand why this plastic has grown to such high demand and why many companies and industries are using HDPE. It not only helps the planet but helps everyone who chooses to use it.

From IT tools to eyeglasses, and toys for kids, to lawn furniture, everything seems to be using HDPE plastic in a safe and conscientious way. From packages in the store to containers for take-out food, along with juice containers, everything is made from HDPE and everyone is benefiting from this amazing plastic that will be recycled when no longer in use. Construction companies use HDPE for underground piping which has proven to withstand time and works perfectly each and every time. Better yet, most people will never even realize they are using the best plastic on the planet.
