Case Study: Residential Driveway Retrofit

Location: Suburban home with sloped driveway • Problem: Water routinely pooled at the garage entrance, staining concrete and creating icy patches in winter.

Solution: An NDS Spee-D® Channel Drain System was installed across the driveway apron with cast iron grates for Class C load support. The system tied into an existing stormwater line, ensuring efficient water removal even during heavy rains.

  • Install time: 1 workday (two-person crew).
  • Outcome: No more pooling; driveway and garage remain dry.
  • Homeowner notes: “It looks neat, and the cast iron grates give us peace of mind with vehicles.”

Maintenance Tips

  • Check grates quarterly and clear debris buildup.
  • Use a hose or pressure washer for quick cleaning.
  • Inspect outlet connections annually to confirm proper flow.
