Why You Should Consider Versetta Siding For Your Home Renovation

If you are looking into renovating your home and want stone siding, you have probably run into Versetta Stone Siding by Boral. I'm sure you have researched and found that traditional siding will cost anywhere from $8,000 to $12,000. On top of that, you will have to pay for professional installation. Versetta Stone Siding is not only affordable but will give your home an incredible look.

Versetta stone siding will cost between $17 to $21 per square foot plus a delivery cost between 20 to 25%. The siding is sold in panels that cover two square feet and are usually sold in bundles of two. If you have some knowledge of the installation, you can do this yourself without hiring professional help.

If you are preparing to renovate your home, you might wonder if Versetta Stone Siding is a good choice. Also, if you are good at projects like this, have the right tools, and want to save money, this might be a great option. Please read on to learn all you can about Versetta Stone Siding.

    Easy Installation

Versetta stone veneer panels do not require a mason and you can do it yourself. These panels are mechanically fastened making this an easy installation. Adding A Magnetic Appeal

Not needing mortar for the stone veneer is an excellent choice to add an elegant touch to the exterior or interior of your home. Using wainscoting for your home's exterior or adding an accent wall to highlight the architectural features is a great way to show off your home.

Improve your outdoor living area by adding this incredible product to your fireplace and outdoor kitchen. Install it on your kitchen island or the mantle over the fireplace to add a unique look to interior places in your home.

Created To Last A Long Time

Boral's mortarless stone is of high quality while lasting for a very long time and requires very little maintenance. The design is beveled to ensure the stones will fit tightly together. The mounting brackets create a secure attachment to walls and for outdoor use, the lifted design offers better drainage. These stone veneers are resistant to damage from erosion, wear and tear, or harsh weather. The stone veneer is resistant to fading to keep your home looking spectacular for a very long time.

Stone veneer siding not only looks natural but will protect the walls of your home both inside and out. Many homeowners choose plastic cladding made of PVC resin or brick but it doesn't look as natural. Stone siding, in general, can be a bit more expensive than some other products but you should consider the advantages and disadvantages before making a choice.

Stone siding was originally manufactured from real stone. In some cases the finish was derived from slabs of flagstone so no cutting was required. As stone siding grew in popularity, companies started producing natural stone siding cut at a standard thickness from quarried stone or Fieldstone.

    The Advantage Of Versetta Stone

At some point, the stone became expensive due to mining, cutting, transporting, and bringing in a mason for installation. Stone veneer siding is usually made from other materials and has become quite popular and is often called faux stone. In most cases, it's made from Portland cement and natural or artificial pigments.

The biggest attraction to stone veneer siding made from synthetic materials is its affordability. Also, it's lightweight so contractors can install them without needing to bring in a mason. Many stone veneer panels are now available in larger panels making them much faster and easier to install. Other stone veneers are made of concrete that looks and feels more like real stone. Both kinds can provide additional insulation to help you save money.

    Installation

Versetta stone siding does not need professional installation service, it can be installed by anyone but, that does not mean you just stick it in place and walk away. According to Boral, if you want to install the siding yourself, you will need the following tools:

    • Ratcheting Driver or Nail Gun
    • A Masonry Saw
    • Hand grinder
    • Level
    • Chalk line
    • Tape Measure
    • Brush
    • Screwdriver

You do not need mortar to install the panels so the process should be quick and clean. These panels are installed like shingles with the top layer overlapping the bottom layers. It is recommended that you start installing the panels from the bottom up.

When installing the siding, be sure to stagger the panels so the gaps between them are not vertically aligned. This will improve the appearance of the panels and strengthen the siding.

    Colors And Finishes

Versetta stone siding is available in 3 different styles and 7 different colors. You can be certain to find the perfect choice for your project. The 3 styles by Versetta are:

    Versetta Stone Ledgestone Style

    Versetta Ledgestone

    Ledgestone

This style is short and will vary in width, giving you a fantastic look. The stones seem to be roughly cut and are not uniform in color. Therefore, the stone colors that are available vary with each selection having some variety in the shade in each panel.

The rough cut and variety of colors offer a stark contrast between the siding and other materials like wood or brick. This style can create an elevated appearance for your project.

    Tight-Cut

This style is somewhat like Ledgestone except the stones is not as short. The stones are not as varied with the  staggering of stones and appears to be tightly fitted together while still revealing a variety of stone sizes. Also, the color is the same as Ledgestone.

Both Ledgestone and Tight-Cut are used for residential applications, however, Tight-Cut is said to have a more "put-together" sophisticated pattern opposed to the more natural Ledgestone look.

These stones are uniform in shape, color, and size. They are arranged in an organized way, offering a clean look. The styles come in gray and white and would look great on commercial buildings or homes with a simple, modern look.

The Best Uses For The Stone Panels

While many people think this stone siding is only for outside your home, you might be pleasantly surprised to learn how Versetta stone siding is being used inside homes. Here are some very creative ideas for Versetta stone siding:

    Outside

Many people use Versetta stone siding outside their homes. Some prefer having the siding covering their homes while others only want the siding in a particular area. One very popular idea is placing Versetta stone siding on the bottom section of the home accompanied by a traditional panel on the top half.

Another idea is using Versetta stone siding in the home's outside door areas such as a porch or a deck. The siding is also used to upgrade free-standing support beams in these areas. As mentioned earlier, the siding is also used for outside kitchens or for counter spaces.

    Inside

Many people use stone siding for their fireplaces to create a log cabin appeal or use it on an accent wall in the bathroom or living room. The siding is also popular as a backsplash in kitchens, or as skirting done on 1/2 "pony" walls to provide a bit more flair or accent to a room.

Commercial buildings such as churches, professional medical offices, and restaurants commonly use Versetta on both interior and exterior applications.
